8 Actors We Wish Hadn’t Already Appeared In The MCU
1. Karl Urban
Karl Urban is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood, and he never seems to have luck with superheroes.
First was his great performance in Dredd that could have been franchise material if the movie hadn't failed at the box office, then came Thor: Ragnarok, where his talents were underutilised in the role of Skurge. With all the bad luck he's had in the superhero world, it's no wonder he went off to kill them in The Boys.
When it was announced that Urban would be starring in Thor: Ragnarok, fans were over the moon. This was a brilliant performer who'd been a significant part of geek culture for some time, thanks to his roles in Lord of the Rings, Star Trek and more. He was a franchise king, so stepping into the MCU felt like the right move; but it ended up falling flat.
Skurge wasn't necessarily awful, as his redemption arc and eventual sacrifice played a pivotal part in the movie. However, casting Karl Urban felt like a waste, as his ferocious look, leading man qualities and character acting skills could have been better suited elsewhere.
Here was an actor who could have easily been the MCU's version of Wolverine, but he instead played a supporting character who made an impression but ultimately won't be remembered all too well.
