8 Actors Who Went Out Of Their Way To Insult Their Fans
4. John Simm Requests Doctor Who Fans Leave Him Alone
Considering the career boost that often comes from appearing in Doctor Who, there can't be too many who regretted their involvement with the show. The last Doctor, Matt Smith, even recorded a farewell video from the Detroit set of Lost River dedicated to Who fans solely as a thank you for their support.
John Simm, it's fair to say, will not be doing the same. Simm, who played the Doctor's nemesis The Master across just five episodes of the show, claims his brief appearance has seen him mobbed by Whovians ever since, something he's taken a raging dislike to.
In an interview with the Guardian in 2013, Simm called Who fans "lovely", while also asking, nay begging them to "leave me alone". According to Simm, he doesn't care for being accosted by strangers when he's out and about: "It's great to be into something, but for goodness' sake, really? I'm not the Master", he declared, failing to realise he will in many fans' eyes be The Master until the end of his miserable days.
