Over the years, Colin Farrell has proven himself to be quite the chameleon on the big screen. Yet, there's an argument to be made that his most shocking transformation to date was for a feature hardly any soul actually watched.

After starring in the likes of Daredevil, Alexander, and In Bruges, Farrell opted to completely transform his body for a role opposite Christopher Lee in 2009's Triage. The film would see Farrell play a photojournalist affected by the harsh realities of war. So, in order to accurately reflect the source material, which stated his character's face was "drawn" after having a shave, Farrell dropped 44lbs in weight; He did this by eating just two cans of tuna-a-day.

Despite Farrell's efforts to put in as authentic a shift as possible, people weren't in a rush to see the star's performance at the cinema, with the film earning just over half a million dollars at the box office. Thankfully, Farrell hasn't had to survive off a couple of tuna cans-a-day in preparation for his next role in Matt Reeves' The Batman, packing on the pounds to play The Penguin in the upcoming Bat-flick.
