8 Actors You Didn't Know Secretly Directed Films

6. Edward Norton - The Incredible Hulk

Hello again, Edward Norton.

Now, according to pretty much every source on this movie, Louis Leterrier was the sole director on this movie, and that isn't 100% false. He was in the director's chair from beginning to end of what was an apparently very hectic production.

A lot of things made the making of this film difficult, not the least of which being the producers despising Zak Penn's original screenplay for the picture. So they asked the film's star, Edward Norton, to touch up the script during production. And while he was at it, Norton also helped Leterrier with a lot of the directing hurtles he was having trouble crossing.

It's thanks to Norton working his magic on the final film that The Hulk is thematically tied to environmentalism, due to Norton's love of the environment. So Norton definitely helped to add more of a thematic subtext to this movie to give it that extra edge.

Alas, Norton was not credited for either his work on the screenplay, or his aid in directing the film alongside Leterrier.
