8 Actors You Won't Recognise In 2018 Movies

4. Zac Efron - Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile

The Beach Bum is not the only risky role that Zac Efron is taking on in 2018, and his other upcoming movie includes another radical image change.

He's set to give what promises to be his darkest and most disturbing performance yet in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile, a dramatisation of the shocking real-life crimes of serial killer Ted Bundy.

The first images of Efron in costume show that significant efforts have been made to turn the long-time teen heartthrob into one of the most notorious, hated Americans of the past 40 years. On top of the none-more-70s hair and dress sense, the usually trim Efron looks to have put a little bit of weight on too.

Admittedly, none of this exactly renders Efron unrecognisable - but it does promise something very different indeed.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil And Vile co-stars Lily Collins, Jim Parsons and John Malkovich, and is directed by Joe Berlinger, previously responsible for the true crime documentary series Paradise Lost (and - whisper it - Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2).
