8 Actors You Won't Recognise In 2018 Movies

3. Rami Malek - Bohemian Rhapsody

Rami Malek is a familiar face to many TV viewers, thanks to his Emmy-winning performance in Amazon's Mr Robot. However, it looks like he'll be rendered unrecognisable as he takes on the role of one of rock music's most iconic vocalists.

Bohemian Rhapsody casts the 36-year old American actor as Freddie Mercury, frontman of British rock legends Queen, in the long in-development biopic - and early evidence indicates he's done a good job of inhabiting the role.

Based on the few photos we've seen of Malek in costume and character, both he and the make-up and costume departments have done a good job making him look the part, and he certainly seems to have nailed the flamboyant performer's signature poses.

We can't wait to see how it all looks in motion - and, of course, how Malek's own singing voice holds up alongside Mercury's famed four-octave range (the film will reportedly use a mix of Malek's own vocals and Mercury's originals).

Alas, Bohemian Rhapsody has been a notoriously troubled production, original director Bryan Singer having been fired after widely reported on-set difficulties, to be replaced by Dexter Fletcher (who had been attached to the project when it was stuck in development hell).

Ben Bussey hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
