seemed to promise more of the same. Stylistic, explosive, and with a "unique" plot, the Gerard Butler flick was all but destined to deliver another fun, wacky action outing. And with Michael C. Hall and Kyra Sedgwick backing up the
300 star, how could you go wrong? Well, putting out a generic, boring action movie is one way to go about it.
Gamer is an action film that falls neatly into that "too stupid" to take seriously and "too passive" to enjoy at face value. Butler leads as an unimpressive, flat character in a world of half-assed mix-and-match locations that aspire to be "cool" and simply come off as uninspired and lazy. Give us back our
