3. The Killing Joke

In some ways, depicting Robin's death in Batman V Superman almost feels too obvious. Instead, a flashback depicting what The Joker did to Barbara Gordon (who it's believed will be played by Jena Malone) and her father could be an even better way to get across the fact that he's by far the most twisted villain in the entire DC Extended Universe. The sight of a Hawaiian shirt wearing Joker shooting Barbara is iconic, and following that up with scenes of him mentally torturing Commissioner Gordon with photos of his seriously injured daughter would be a very dark path to go down. Preferably, the movie won't have Barbara naked in those pictures as the comic book did as that's a little too extreme for a PG-13 summer blockbuster, but having this flashback conclude with The Joker murdering Gordon - rather than sharing a laugh with Batman as he did in The Killing Joke - would be sure to shock moviegoers to their very core. After all, they became attached to the character when Gary Oldman played him in The Dark Knight Trilogy, and with rumours pointing to him being dead in this world, this could be a solid way to depict that. While it will obviously be a shame to not see Malone suited up as Batgirl, it would be just as awesome for her to take on the role of Oracle in this movie and the upcoming Batman solo flicks.
