8 Batsh*t Crazy Theories For The Plots Of Marvel's Phase 4
7. The Clone Saga
Now that Spider-Man is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, it's a hell of a lot easier to get excited about what might be next for the wall-crawler. While they're skipping over the character's origin story, he's still extremely young, so chances are that Peter Parker's first couple of movies are going to keep the focus on him coming to grips with being a superhero. However, as we move into Phase 4, it's time to up the stakes. The Clone Saga may have been a mess in the comics, but there's a lot of material there which could work in a movie. For starters, bringing in the likes of Ben Reilly and Kaine opens the door to a new wave of spinoffs for Sony, and seeing Spider-Man going to war with multiple versions of himself would be unlike anything we've ever seen in one of his movies before now. They could even use this movie to introduce Miles Morales. Whether it unfolds in just the one Phase 4 release or several of them, bringing The Clone Saga into the MCU could have major ramifications for everyone; Secret Invasion is off limits because Marvel don't own the Skrulls, but how about recreating that by revealing that a big name hero like Iron Man has been replaced by a brainwashed clone? The potential for something great is there, and Marvel will hopefully realise that.
