8 Batsh*t Crazy Theories For The Plots Of Marvel's Phase 4

6. Namor Comes Home

There's been a lot of confusion about where the rights to Namor are held for some time now, though it's widely believed that they're somehow wrapped up at Universal. However, should Aquaman prove to be a success a couple of years from now, you'd best believe that Marvel are going to make an effort to bring their own underwater superhero to the big screen as part of Phase 4, and in all honesty, that's actually long overdue. By rights, Namor should have been part of Captain America: Civil War, but Kevin Feige still has the opportunity to explore a whole new side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with the character, even if it isn't in his own solo outing initially. Will they face accusations of plagiarism? Probably, but Aquaman and Namor are actually very different characters whose only real similarities are the fact they hail from Atlantis and live underwater. Again, Namor's role in Phase 4 ultimately comes down to just how successful Aquaman ends up being, though even if it flops, Marvel might still want to take advantage of that by giving moviegoers a fishy superhero movie they can get behind. With everyone from The Punisher to Ghost Rider and Blade returning "home" to Marvel Studios in recent years, I'd be shocked to see Namor left on the shelf for too much longer anyway.
