8 Best Comic Storylines Featuring Spider-Man: Far From Home Villains

2. Mysterioso - The Amazing Spider-Man #618

For the last decade or so, Spider-Man - at least in mainstream Marvel continuity - has been dominated by Dan Slott. The writer hopped aboard the wall-crawler's series in the wake of the controversial "One More Day" storyline from Civil War, and though it's had both highs and lows, every web-head should read Mysterioso.

Taken from 'The Gauntlet', Mysterioso deserves plaudits for both its writing and its art, but the art in particular deserves special praise. Marcos Martin's pencils are simply stunning, and Javier Rodriguez's colours are something to behold too, with the pair combining to create an aesthetic that feels both retro and modern at the same time.

It's a gorgeous story, and one that stands alone pretty well too, which means you can jump into it without having to worry about other story-arcs, or random bits of continuity encroaching on the issue.
