8 Big Movie Stars That Started As Background Extras

3. Bruce Willis - The Verdict

A class act all around here, as Sidney Lumet directs Paul Newman and Charlotte Rampling in a screenplay written by David Mamet. So needless to say it got showered in Oscar nominations back in 1982. The story follows a low rent, alcoholic lawyer who sees a chance at some personal redemption with a medical malpractice case and he pushes for it to go to trial when all the parties involved just want to settle. The case is hard fought, and as Newman is making his closing arguments to the jury if you squint a little you can see seated behind him in the courtroom audience is a young Bruce Willis, complete with a lush head of hair and a really ugly tie. It proves that being an extra isn't such a bad job, as he got to just sit there all day watching Paul Newman act up a storm. And it€™s a little strange that he seems more engaged here than he did in the entire runtime of A Good Day to Die Hard. Trivia bonus: See the guy sitting to the left of Bruce? That's actor Tobin Bell, better known as Jigsaw from the Saw movies. Maybe this is some kind of prequel?

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
