6. Prometheus 2 Gets New Writer And Release Date

Prometheus, Ridley Scott's hotly anticipated return to the Alien franchise (and the science fiction genre) was met with mixed results. Many applauded the film's beautiful CGI and production design, while many had problems with its story and lack of concrete ties to Alien. Nevertheless, the film made a lot of money and was greenlit for a sequel pretty quickly; but things have been pretty quiet ever since. This week we got word that the film now has a March 4, 2016 release date, and that Green Lantern scribe Michael Green would be doing a rewrite of the script. Green is hoping to give the film a more "Alien-y" feel, making it less sci-fi heavy and bringing the franchise back to its horror roots. Ridley Scott is still attached to direct, and will start production after the release of his upcoming biblical epic Exodus. We also know that Noomi Rapace is expected to return, and that the film will contain multiple David androids. That means more than one Fassbender, which can only be a good thing!
