8 Characters That Need More Screen Time In Avengers: Age Of Ultron
2. Hulk
After The Avengers, Hulk appeared to have his own film franchise lined up, but aside from a cameo in the credits of Iron Man 3, he's had little love in the realm of stand-alone movies. Part of this is down to the complex contract negotiations that saw Edward Norton replaced with Mark Ruffalo, which seemed to halt some of Marvel's plans for the character, although most of it is probably down to The Incredible Hulk not really reaching the heights expected of it. It's a shame really, because Ruffalo was hugely impressive in the role in the first film, winning fans over and having two of the best moments of the movie ("I'm always angry" and "Puny God"). It would have been interesting to see what he would have done with the character in a solo film, and some of the loose ends might have been picked up from The Incredible Hulk. It's not like there aren't Hulk stories that could have happened either - fans have been clamouring for a Planet Hulk movie, though admittedly the Universe isn't really in a place for that at the moment, with Hulk still on Earth. It's up to Avengers: Age Of Ultron to pick up the character and give the Jade Giant the screen time he deserves, being a quite literal big hitter within the universe. If he gets enough focus, it might make up for the lack of individual Hulk film in Phase Two, and at nearly three hours, they've got the runtime to do it.
