8 Clues Deadpool Isn't Actually In The X-Men Movie Universe
4. Marvel Movies Exist In This Universe
I've already established that we can't use any of Deadpool's fourth-wall breaking and pop culture gags as proof of any timeline discrepancy, but the same can't go for characters who aren't mutated mercs with high perceptiveness - anything they say is grounded within the world itself. Enter the only other character to openly break the fourth wall (he calls Deadpool's self-anointed name "franchise material"); Weasel. When he mocks Ajax and Angel Dust by stating "Have fun at your midnight showing of Blade 2" he canonises that franchise within the world of Deadpool; he's not showing out-of-body awareness, but as a regular character merely stating a in-universe fact. Now to get into an argument that "this movie's inclusion necessitates that movie's inclusion" based on real world Hollywood development isn't exactly sound logic, but if we're going to establish superhero movies as a thing in this world, we begin to weaken the idea of Deadpool and X-Men sharing a world.
