8 Coolest Winter Action Scenes In Movies

1. Ski & Parachute Scene - The Spy Who Loved Me

We all knew this had to be number one. The thrilling ski chase from 1977, with Roger Moore as James Bond in The Spy Who Loved Me. A classic Bond film and perhaps the classic Bond chase. 007 is descending a mountain once again, in bright yellow ski suit and a huge red backpack. Leading the pursuing bad-guys in an off-piste extravaganza of stunning jumps, breath-taking slides and clever manoeuvring, James Bond flies down a mountainside with the flair and tenacity only Roger Moore can provide. The scene has memorable moments. Bond's ski pole turns into a gun at the flick of a switch, eliminating an antagonist. Skiing backwards, Bond performs a backflip and lands perfectly. But of course, the most memorable moment of the chase, and indeed the whole James Bond franchise, sees 007 ski straight off the edge of a mountain and apparently fall to his doom. The fall goes on for a while, in total silence, but suddenly out of the red backpack a parachute appears, adorned with a huge Union Jack. The James Bond theme tune comes in and our hero floats away. A thrilling end to the best winter action scene ever. Like this list? Which scenes have we missed? Let us know in the comments section below.
