8 Disconcerting Things About The New Jurassic World Trailer

7. They Didn't Build The Iconic Gate For Real

They didn't built the gate! What gives, Jurassic World filmmakers? At least, according to this trailer, you opted to use CGI to render the famous Jurassic Park gate, which - to us - seems like a huge mistake. It's not just that the whole thing looks incredibly fake and CGI-bad; this is the one part of the set that really deserved to be build out of actual stuff. You know, to help people believe that the park is a real place they can visit. When you render something as iconic as the Jurassic Park gate in CGI, you're pretty much telling you audience: "Honestly, we just could not be bothered to build a real gate this time around... you don't mind, do you? It's not like you think that this park actually exists or anything.... right?" Okay, so we're probably making an unnecessary fuss about this point, but something about a bad CGI park gate feels... well, really wrong.
