8 Disconcerting Things About The New Jurassic World Trailer

6. Those Gyrosphere Things

There is something inherently disconcerting about the Gyrospheres featured in the Jurassic World trailer. We're not sure what, exactly, but something about their crisp, CG-rendered shape doesn't seem right in the world of Jurassic Park. Okay, so technology has obviously advanced in the years between the first movie and this fourth chapter, but we're having a hard time accepting that people are using these to get around. There's also something odd about the shot of the two brothers taking in the park from the confines of a Gyrosphere. Is it the word "Gyrosphere" that makes it weird? Whatever the reason, we're not entirely convinced with the "look" of these viewing pods compared with the likes of the classic Jurassic Park jeeps. Would guests feel comfortable getting inside a Gyrosphere? What are they even attached to? No thanks.
