8 Embarrassing First Jobs Famous Filmmakers Endured

1. Arnold Schwarzenegger Deeply Regrets His First Film Role

Once upon a time Arnie was just a skinny Austrian teenager inspired to get into bodybuilding when he watched old Hercules movies on TV, but by the time he was 20 he was already crowned Mr. Universe. It must have felt like destiny to the young man when he was the lead role in Hercules In New York, and he signed on without a moment€™s doubt. The film was his first acting role, and boy does it show; he never has or will be the best actor in the world, but his performance in Hercules is eye-watering. His accent also proved to be a problem as people could barely understand what he was saying, so his voice was dubbed over by an American actor when the film was released. The film would have sucked even if he€™d given an amazing performance, with the terrible script and low-budget making it a chore to sit through all the way. The movie does feature a scene where Hercules wrestles a bear €“ well, a man in a bear outfit €“ in Central Park though, so it€™s not a total loss. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wj4NGS_o68g Arnold has said repeatedly that he regrets making the film, and he used to force his kids to sit through it if they ever misbehaved. Subsequently, he never had a lot of problems with his children stepping out of line. Can you think of any other embarrassing first jobs famous filmmakers took on? Share them in the comments below.
