8 Embarrassing Movie Roles Tom Hardy Probably Regrets
5. Detective Michaels - Thick As Thieves
A mere year before he made that crucial step towards awesomeness (and career success) in Christopher Nolan's modern sci-fi classic, Inception, Tom Hardy appeared in a straight-to-DVD flick called Thick As Thieves, which also - for some reason - starred Morgan Freeman and Antonio Banderas in the leading roles. It was bad. Very bad. Tom Hardy has a thankless part as a detective and uses an American accent that slips in and out of being "a bit dodgy" and "really dodgy." Yes, everyone has to start somewhere, and Hardy gets a scene with screen legend Robert Forster, but this is a totally naff role of which even Hardy doesn't even seem to be bothered about getting it right. Just another lame film clogging up his filmography in the years before he actually became a big deal. And now, he'd probably be ashamed of that accent.
