8 Embarrassingly Bad Movie Auditions Starring Famous Actors

5. Scarlett Johansson (Jumanji)

Role? Judy Shepherd

Did she get the part? No.

Before she was Black Widow and well before she shot to fame in Lost In Translation, The Island and The Prestige, ScarJo almost landed a major role in 1995's Jumanji, eventually losing out to Kirsten Dunst.

While watching her failed audition, it's easy to see why she didn't get the part; she just wasn't ready. Her delivery is flat and forced and it's hard not to wince as her lines fall out of her mouth in a brutally monotone fashion.

She sports a bored expression for most of it too, coming across as a kid who just wants to be a kid, rather than going to work at such a young age.

Jumanji would go on to become a cult classic, with a remake, starring Dwayne Johnson, slated for later this year - we're betting she didn't audition for that one.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
