8 Embarrassingly Bad Movie Auditions Starring Famous Actors

4. Taylor Lautner (The Adventures Of Sharkboy And Lavagirl)

Role? Sharkboy.

Did he get the part? Yes.

A movie called 'The Adventures Sharkboy and Lavagirl' will hardly require top-notch acting talent in the first place, and in that sense, Taylor Lautner - whether the sprightly young man seen in this video or the older, brooding teen found in the Twilight series - is the perfect candidate.

And even he probably looks back on this tape and groans.

He feigns pain (ouch!) like he's filming a low-budget advert for first-aid kits, and then, rather hilariously, takes a tumble as he attempts to stand on his hands in a "Sharkboy action pose", face turning a brighter shade of red than his overly baggy muscle shirt.

The film turned out to be a critical and box-office dud, but Lautner would go on to enjoy a relatively fruitful movie career before finding success on TV, so apparently, the quality of his earlier performances is irrelevant.

In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too.
