7. Van Damme... Originally Played The Predator
Ok this entry is a little bit of a cheat as technically Van Damme isn't in the finished film but it's a cool piece of trivia none the less. Van Damme was originally cast to play the Predator in the action classic from 1987 but there were two big problems during the shoot. One, the moment he realised he'd be playing an uncredited special effect and that his face wouldn't be seen and Two, the original design for the creature was absolutely atrocious (Google it sometime and experience the horror for yourself). This and other factors, such as the intense jungle heat that made wearing the suit unbearable, led to Van Damme quitting after a few days of filming. The late, great Stan Winston was brought in to completely redesign the creature and an enduring classic was born. And with this impressive piece of film trivia you can impress all of your friends in the pub the next time you go out.
