8 Famous Actors Forced Into Roles They Never Wanted

5. Jennifer Lawrence - X-Men: Dark Phoenix

It's no secret that Jennifer Lawrence isn't enthusiastic about her role as Mystique in the X-Men films, so it was surprising to learn that she'd be back for next year's X-Men: Dark Phoenix, especially after her phoned-in performance in 2016's Apocalypse.

Well... surprise! She isn't too thrilled about appearing in this next film, either, as she revealed in an interview with EW.

“I kind of f*cked myself. Because when I was trying to talk Simon [Kinberg] into directing, he said something like, ‘If I direct it, you have to do it,’ and I was like, ‘Of course! Duh!’ Then they offered me the movie, and I was like, ‘goddamnit!'"

She also added that her character's blue body paint was another deterrent, questioning the nature of what exactly she's spreading over her body.

"I was 20 [when filming X-Men: First Class] and I didn’t care about fumes and toxins, and now I’m almost 25 and I’m like, ‘I can’t even pronounce this and that’s going in my nose? I’m breathing that?’”

Still, at least the money will be good.
