8 Famous Actors Forced Into Roles They Never Wanted

It's hard to imagine Channing Tatum being bullied into doing anything, but that's exactly what happened before the production of G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra was ready to kick off.

Tatum's Hollywood star was just beginning to rise, and as such, he had to consider taking big roles. The blockbuster Rise Of Cobra certainly ticked that box, but rather than the actor agreeing to the part purely as a way to boost his own profile, he was flat-out forced into doing it by a three-picture deal he'd signed previously.

Tatum was locked into this contract with 2005's Coach Carter, his first major role. Obviously, being a young up-and-comer, he jumped at the chance to appear in three different movies with a major studio, and signed on the dotted line without so much as a second thought.

But that decision came back to bite him on the rear when one of those movies was 2009's G.I. Joe adaptation. In past interviews, Tatum has said that he hates everything about the project, so his disdain for this whole sequence of events is pretty clear.
