8 Famous Movie Scenes That Were Created By Complete Accident

4. The Line-Up In The Usual Suspects Can't Stop Laughing...Because Benicio Del Toro Can't Stop Farting

Directed by Bryan Singer (of X-Men fame), The Usual Suspects is a 1995 film about a five criminals who meet at a seemingly random police line-up. The film has gone on to become a crime/thriller classic, and stars the likes of Kevin Spacey, Stephen Baldwin and Benicio Del Toro. The line-up scene, then, is fairly important, establishing how the band of main characters come to meet and bond. In the film, the criminals can't stop laughing, generating a sort of strange comradery between the five from the very offset. In the original script, however, the scene was supposed to be completely po-faced and serious. According to one of the special features on the DVD release of the film, Benicio Del Toro couldn't stop farting during the scene, which greatly amused the rest of the actors but irritated Bryan Singer, who felt the actors weren't being professional. In the end, however, the laughter greatly benefits the film, which has the tough job of selling a heist pulled by five people who start out as total strangers. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dp5YwZCGpm0
