8 Fascinating X-Men: Days Of Future Past Theories

3. Magneto Kills JFK All Along

After those cryptic viral videos, everyone's talking about "the bent bullet"; Magneto was sat on a grassy knoll, trying to prevent the assassination of JFK, we presume, by deflecting a bullet fired by Mystique, we also presume. The trailer certainly hints that Mystique is the one that wants to kill Kennedy. But what if it really was Magneto that assassinated the president all along? Why It Could Be True: If Magneto's going to continue his rise to the dark side, this would be the perfect opportunity; assuming that both him and Mystique are friends in the future too, they'd both side over something as big as this. It doesn't seem quite so simple that Mystique would assassinate the president and Magneto would get the blame: maybe there's more to meet the eye? Magneto's role in this film has been severely downplayed by Singer, in favour of talking about Charles and the journey he goes on. Perhaps there's a subtle arc involved for Magneto too, something that shakes the mutant world to the core: what could be better than this?
