8 Franchises With Two Movies That Deserve To Become Trilogies

5. Crank

Crank 2 High VoltageThe Movies So Far... Crank (2006), Crank 2: High Voltage (2009) Argh. Crank is the sort of franchise that I feel silly about proposing we give another movie to, purely because it's so inconsequential to everything else that exists in the universe - but that's kind of the point in me suggesting it. If it's bad, we haven't really lost anything. If it's good, we've somehow carved an awesome trilogy out of a bunch of video game-inspired movies that make little sense and are ridiculously fun to watch in ways that are kind of beyond comprehension. I mean, the first Crank movie ends with the protagonist falling out of the sky, whacking his head on the pavement down below, and then... well, he's back in the sequel, in which the tagline was "He was dead... but then he got better." Granted, Crank 2 wasn't quite as inspired (is that the right word?) as the first movie, but it delivered, and if a third movie ended up sucking... well, it's not like Crank 3 would be stamping all over an esteemed legacy, would it?
