What Culture - British Actors Jared Harris Son of the late-great actor Richard Harris, the London-born Jared Harris is a perfect example of one of those actors who people know their face from so many things but don€™t necessarily know their name. That€™s intended to be a huge compliment to him as an actor as he always manages to perfectly fit in with whatever film he chooses to take on and inhabit the roles brilliantly. What You May Know Him From: As well as having a couple of notable TV roles over the last few years €“ Lane Pryce in Mad Men and David Robert Jones in Fringe €“ Harris has cracked the formula of being a dependable character actor who Hollywood calls on regularly. One of his most notable film roles was as Sherlock Holmes€™ nemesis Dr. Moriarty in Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (shown above), where he gave Robert Downey Jr. a run for his money in the wit department. He also starred as the wheelchair-bound Dr. Ashford in Resident Evil: Apocalypse, London Boy in Oliver Stone€™s Natural Born Killers and most recently as Ulysses S. Grant in Steven Spielberg€™s historical biopic Lincoln.
