8 Great Characters Sony's Marvel Movies Have Completely Screwed Up

6. Flash Thompson

The Flash Thompson we met in the first Spider-Man movie was just a generic bully, and The Amazing Spider-Man's take on the character was equally as forgettable. Of course, both franchises failed to give Peter Parker a supporting cast outside of his aunt and love interests, and that's a big part of why both the Joe Manganiello and Chris Zylka (perhaps the world's blandest actor) versions ended up failing to do Flash justice. After all, despite spending years tormenting Peter, the two ultimately became friends, and Flash would battle both alcoholism and embark on a relationship with Betty Brant. Later, the character lost his legs fighting in the Iraq War and became Venom at the behest of the government, so there was a lot of ground these movies could have covered. Instead, Flash has failed to have any sort of impact on the big screen twice now.
