8 Great Characters Sony's Marvel Movies Have Completely Screwed Up

5. The Rhino

I can forgive Marc Webb for a lot of the things he did in The Amazing Spider-Man franchise, but turning Paul Giamatti into whatever the hell this was is beyond the pale. The talented actor was transformed into a cartoon caricature, with his hideous over the top Russian accent and rhino themed underwear coming off as more embarrassing than entertaining (something he had in common with Jamie Foxx's Electro then). The decision to put him in a giant mechanical suit (which for some impractical reason had a giant horn and resembled a rhino) was definitely unique, but removed one of the most interesting parts of the villain's story. Rhino being trapped in that suit has always been a driving force for him, and the fact that The Amazing Spider-Man 2 ended before we even got to see the villain in action was the cherry on top of this sh*t sundae.
