For the first time in cinematic history, 2015 will see a big screen clash between two titans of the pages of DC Comics. Batman Vs Superman will be the sequel to 2013's Man of Steel movie and will see a rebooted version of the dark knight (to be played by Ben Affleck) taking on Henry Cavill's Kryptonian powerhouse. The two heroic titans have come face to face as foes on many occasions in animated features, several television cartoon series and, of course, in the comic books - but never before in live action. If, as expected, the movie becomes a box office success (and, let's be honest, it will be, despite the reluctance of the masses to accept Ben Affleck as the dark knight and regardless of how well it is received by critics) it could be the start of a trend that sees iconic comic book heroes battling against each other in live action movies rather than just the villains they've been traditionally facing off against for so long. There have been many instances of hero versus hero fights in other media that could be adapted on to the big screen and I have chosen some of the best examples for this list.
