By the time Unfriended: Dark Web rolls to a close, it's revealed that the trauma and torment seen throughout the 2018 sequel was all done solely for sh*ts 'n' giggles.

Here, a bunch of young adults all end up dead - well, one technically survives but has a hole drilled in her skull - after being manipulated by a group of expert hackers known as the Circle.

This all comes about after Colin Woodell's Matias O'Brien takes home a laptop he'd found at an internet cafe, with Matias falling into the Circle's trap and inadvertently setting up he, his girlfriend and their pals as fresh pawns in the hacking group's twisted game.

Helplessly watching on via Skype as his girlfriend is attacked, it's in Dark Web's final ten minutes where Matias realises he's bitten off way more than he can chew; that coming when it's explained to him that the reason all of this has happened is simply because it was "game night". After this reveal, our lead character knows his ultimate fate and even starts to chuckle to himself at his doomed situation.
