8 Gritty Movie Reboots We'd Secretly Love

2. Captain Caveman

There have been so many superhero movies released in the last ten years, and each one of them has had their dark and broody moments, particularly after the aforementioned Batman Begins. Man Of Steel tried its best to have a serious take on a superhero who could fly. Didn't quite work out as well as people hoped, so I say move over Superman, time for a real levitating hero to take the lead. Premise: Cavey is unfortunate to have been trapped by an avalanche whilst attempting to free a trapped baby stegosaurus, and is frozen solid. Thanks to the Ice Age and his superhuman powers of longevity, Captain Caveman is kept alive for millions of years, and is only finally wakened by the effects of global warming on the planet. Upon his revival, Caveman is horrified to see the extent of damage done to his planet in his absence, and swears to track down those responsible for the callous pollution all around him. The Captain vows to become the protector of the Earth, but has an uneasy relationship with its inhabitants due to his total lack of regard for the structures and settlements which may cross his path, he becomes the greatest anti-hero the world has ever known. Cast: Daniel Day-Lewis (Captain Caveman)
