During the first Battle of Geonosis shown in Episode II - Attack of the Clones, fans were given a glimpse of the hologram plans for the iconic Death Star, with Count Dooku eventually taking said plans back to his master on Coruscant.

Fast forward to Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, and thanks to them being similarly projected in red like the aforementioned Episode II Death Star hologram, it seemed like Palpatine was looking over those same plans in his office as Anakin Skywalker entered the room for what became a quite important chat.

They're only on-screen for a few seconds, so you can forgive people for just seeing a big sphere and thinking, "yup, that's no moon!" But if you pause the scene and really analyse what's visible on that hologram, it actually looks like Palpatine is staring at something else altogether.

Though not fully confirmed, the presence of two objects getting closer to the sphere seems to suggest he's monitoring the Separatists he'd ordered to be transported to Mustafar earlier in the movie here. And that would make a bit more sense than going over your super top secret Death Star plans in a place where anyone could just wander in.

So, what a lot of people have long assumed was yet another cheeky Death Star appearance was actually secretly Palps keeping an eye on the Separatists he'd ultimately have killed by his next apprentice... probably.
