While the tagline to the sixth installment of this slasher series promises audiences that, "They saved the best for last," this lackluster and unoriginal sequel was a critical and commercial disaster.

Generally considered the worst film in the franchise, this mediocre movie reveals that Freddy Krueger (Robert Englund), the sadistic serial killer who murders children and teenagers while they sleep, has a secret daughter, Dr. Maggie Burroughs (Lisa Zane).

Teaming up with a group of troubled teens, Maggie attempts to finally destroy Freddy, and she battles her disturbed father with a variety of weapons such as throwing knives and crossbows.

Maggie manages to trap Freddy with surprising ease, pinning him to a wall before stabbing the murderer with his own clawed glove. Maggie is then thrown a pipe bomb (bombus ex machina?) with which she is able to finally destroy Freddy.

This honestly cringe-inducing scene allows Maggie to defeat the ostensibly invincible serial killer with apparent ease. While the first five films in the franchise consistently demonstrate that Freddy is essentially impossible to injure, let alone kill, this subpar sequel goes against the established rules of the franchise. This entirely underwhelming death of one of horror's most iconic villains is a slap in the face to Freddy fans everywhere.
