8 Horror Movie Survivors Who Were Quickly Killed Off In The Sequel

5. Sean Brody - Jaws: The Revenge

There are so many head-scratching moments dotted throughout Jaws: The Revenge, but one of the rare pieces of genuine quality about the fourth Jaws movie is the shocking death of Sean Brody.

Having been a constant presence throughout the previous three films, the youngest Brody son suffers a brutal demise that was meant to set the tone for Jaws: The Revenge - yet, in reality, this scene was head and shoulders above so much of the rest of the picture.

Sean had his fair share of close calls across the first three Jaws films, but the Grim Reaper finally comes a-calling in Jaws: The Revenge. And by Grim Reaper, of course that means the toothy visage of a Great White.

To add to the spectacle of Sean's death, the poor sucker first has his arm bitten off before then being brutally devoured by the shark.

Interestingly, long-standing speculation has claimed that this scene was initially planned to be the death of Roy Scheider's Martin Brody should Scheider accept the offer of returning for a brief cameo in the film. Scheider turned any such return down, and thus Chief Brody was given an off-screen death from a heart attack.

Once described as the Swiss Army Knife of WhatCulture, Andrew can usually be found writing, editing, or presenting on a wide range of topics. As a lifelong wrestling fan, horror obsessive, and comic book nerd, he's been covering those topics professionally as far back as 2010.
