8 Horror Movie Survivors Who Were Quickly Killed Off In The Sequel
2. Laurie Strode - Halloween: Resurrection
Depending on what entry in the Halloween franchise you decide to watch at any given time, there’s a 50/50 chance that Laurie Strode might not be amongst the living.
Having survived the traumatic events of Michael Myers’ return to Haddonfield in John Carpenter’s 1978 Halloween and its set-on-the-same-night follow-up, 1988’s Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers saw it revealed that Jamie Lee Curtis’ Laurie dies in a car wreck.
It’s not that off-screen death we're looking at here, though, for Halloween H20 explained that Laurie had actually faked her own death and took on the new identity of Keri Tate. But while Strode would survive H20 and end the film by lopping of Michael’s head, she wouldn’t be so lucky by the time Halloween: Resurrection rolled around in 2002.
As a movie, Halloween: Resurrection is a mixed bag (at best!), yet the film does serve up the hugely shocking opening act death of Laurie Strode. Finally killed by the Shape after he tracked her down to Grace Andersen Sanitarium, Laurie’s appearance in Resurrection is one that lasted just a handful of minutes before Michael stabbed her and then dropped her from a roof.
In more recent years, all of this has been retconned after David Gordon Green’s 2018 Halloween brought Laurie Strode back to the fore and completely ignored anything that happened since Halloween II.
