Jeepers Creepers starts off well enough. The beginning of the film has intrigue and a genuine aura and the first 15 minutes or so are great. The song that the film borrows its title from and plays intermittently on the soundtrack is creepy. Things look promising for a while. But then the film loses its way and the action descends into mindless, by-the-numbers stalk-and-slash at the end. To make things worse, the film's villain (The Creeper) is truly nondescript and a big disappointment when he is eventually revealed. He has a generic, amalgamated look and isn't scary in the slightest. In the end it turns out he just wanted some new eyes. That the film spawned a sequel and another is rumoured to be in development is quite astonishing. You would be best served saving your peepers for watching another horror film, preferably one with a decent villain.
