8 Horror Movies Built On A Lie
1. The Haunting In Connecticut 2: Ghosts Of Georgia
Where to start with this film series? The first film is an absolute mess in its construction from concept to execution, with the so-called 'true story' it's based on barely being true in the first place.
The haunting of the Snedeker family is believed to be largely a work of fiction, written by an author hired by paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. They wanted something a little spicier for their infamous tales of supernatural terror, and weren't above making things up to fit their profitable narrative.
So we've already got a first movie that's taken liberties with its source material, and said source material isn't even accurate in the first place. AND THEN we have a sequel to a falsified story turned into sensational Hollywood fodder.
The Haunting in Connecticut 2 makes exactly the same mistakes in basing itself, very loosely, on a true story once again. Also, as a nice little cherry on this big old crappy cake, Connecticut and Georgia are two different states. Talk about one mess of a title.
