6. H. R. Giger Batmobile
H. R. Giger is best known for his incredible work on the creature design for Alien. His work is characterized by surrealism, dark mood, and sexuality. The blend of gothic and futuristic imagery he perfected would seemingly make him a perfect candidate for a Batman project, right?
It is not entirely astounding why his design was never used, however. The Batmobile he designed looked beyond impractical. This version was originally meant to be used in Batman Forever, and it is a pretty far departure from the Tim Burton design. According to batmobilehistory.com, the idea was "to include articulated front legs/mandibles, retractable fins, and gatling gun emplacements on each of the four pods on the sides of the vehicle." Which, I won't lie, could be interesting, and may have introduced a new element into the mythos, but would have been difficult to execute well, and would more than likely end up as another ridiculous remnant of the Schumacher era.
