Later on, Paul would travel to see relatives in Florida, only to end up getting caught masturbating at an adult theater. He would deny these allegations but his arrest plastered his mugshot all over the world. Compared to the squeaky clean character of Pee-Wee Herman, this was a big shock to pretty much everyone. CBS stopped airing reruns of his TV show (Pee-Wee's Playhouse) and Toys R Us stopped selling his toys. After that, Paul decided to lay low and stayed out of the public eye for several years. He would take small roles here and there before making a breakthrough in the film Blow. Since then, Paul would go on to revive the Pee-Wee Herman character to mostly positive reviews.
