8 Insane DC Extended Universe Rumours You Need To See To Believe

2. Justice League's Epic Villains

While Marvel's two-part Avengers: Infinity War looks set to pit Earth's Mightiest Heroes against Thanos across the course of two movies, rumour has it that the Justice League will be squaring off with a couple of vastly different villains in their 2017 and 2019 outings. The first will be Brainiac, a classic Superman baddie that Zack Snyder has already confirmed would have been a big part of Man of Steel 2. He apparently arrives on Earth for the same reason General Zod did; the signal from that beacon Superman activated in his first solo outing (are the events of Man of Steel seriously going to be followed up on in every single one of these DC Extended Universe movies?). However, don't expect him to be a problem for too long though as he'll have seemingly been dealt with by the time a Green Lantern crashes to Earth to warn the Justice League of the threat they really need to be worried about. That threat will of course be Darkseid. Very little is know about how he'll factor into the second Justice League movie or what brings him to Earth - it better not be that f***ing signal again... - but he the perfect choice of villain for this team to square off against, despite some obvious physical similarities to Thanos. The problem with this rumour is that it surfaced before Batman v Superman's Chris Terrio was hired to pen the screenplays of both Justice League movies, so who knows how much could have changed in the time that's since passed. However, both Darkseid and Brainiac are logical choices of villain for either one of these Justice League movies, so expect one or both to show up even if these reports were incorrect!
