2. Hilarious Animated Movies About Hilarious Talking Animals
Look, I know better than anybody why animation studios base most of their movies around animal characters with funny voices, because I'm one of the people who happens to be continually drawn in by all those fuzzy faces and quirky personalities. But I think, ultimately, this whole "talking animal" thing doesn't really help when it comes to convincing those who think animation is another "genre" otherwise. Because it isn't - it's another way to tell a story. And I'd be willing to trade off a few of these talking animal movies for something a bit different. I know that animals attract mass audiences, but is it so wrong to want something smarter? I'm including things like
The Incredibles in that "smarter" category by the way: I'm not asking for
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within, 'cause, uh, that didn't make a whole lot of money and people were confused. But I think some variety could help matters: why not make a movie about, like, a talking toaster or something? I'm 100% sure that's never been done.
