8 Little Known Tics That Make Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool Awesome
7. He Got Ripped...Even Though He Didn't Have To
Ryan Reynolds is probably never going to look like a beanpole as long as he lives, but he still got into especially robust shape for the first Deadpool movie, despite the fact he absolutely didn't have to.
The movie's costume designers initially included a layer of muscle inside the Deadpool suit, but hilariously, it had to be removed because it left the suit too tight on top of Reynolds' own chiselled physique, and also made Deadpool look too bulky for his own good.
Granted, we do see Wade wearing some form-fitting clothing in the first movie and the infamous sex scene montage makes enterprising use of his toned bod, but nothing in the script reportedly called for Wade to look ripped, and this was entirely Reynolds' doing.
If nothing else, it at least adds a greater sense of physicality to his performance, making him all the more believable as a lithe mercenary, even if the lion's share of the hard work was of course pawned off on Reynolds' stunt team.
