8 Marvel Characters That Could Appear In Thor: Love & Thunder

2. King Thor

Thor has lived for thousands of years, and has fought in more battles and against more foes than could ever be counted. His war with Gorr the God Butcher however, spanned across thousands of years. He first encountered the villain when he was a relatively young God, and was still fighting the same fight when he was old and grey, and the last God on Asgard.

When Gorr began travelling through time to kill Gods in both the past and future, present-day Thor followed him thousands of years into the future. He thought he came face to face with Odin when he emerged, however it was in fact himself, old and grey, weary, and simply waiting for death after 900 years of fighting Gorr.

This new villain has the potential to be one of the strongest the MCU has ever seen, and if the only way to defeat him is to combine the powers of multiple Thors, this could only help.

When Russell Crowe was first confirmed to be appearing in the movie, it was theorised that he would be portraying King Thor. Of course, he has since been confirmed to be playing Zeus, but that doesn’t mean there can’t be another grey bearded God in the movie. They could even age Chris Hemsworth like with Chris Evans in Endgame, or could cast someone to play an older Thor, much like Richard E. Grant has just done for Loki.
