8 MCU Characters Who Could Be In The Thunderbolts Movie

It’s widely accepted that Taskmaster’s appearance in 2020’s Black Widow solo movie was a divisive one for Marvel fans, mostly because their gender and origin story was depicted differently to that of the comic book counterpart.

The MCU version of Taskmaster was eventually revealed to be Antonia Dreykov, daughter of the sinister General Dreykov.

Despite being brainwashed and controlled by her father throughout the movie’s events, the climax sees Taskmaster exposed to the Red Dust which freed her mind from General Dreykov’s control and allowed her to escape and rebuild her life.

Unconfirmed leaks from self-proclaimed Marvel insiders claim that Olga Kurylenkno will reprise the role of Antonia Dreykov a.k.a. Taskmaster in the upcoming Thunderbolts movie.

In the recent Thunderbolts comics, the male Taskmaster is somewhat of a ‘on-the-ground’ leader for the criminal team. Still taking orders from Kingpin but serving a similar role to that of Captain America in the Avengers.

Black Widow writer Eric Pearson is attached to write the script for the Thunderbolts movie, further adding fuel to the rumours that Taskmaster will have a prominent role.

Another interesting thing to note, is that Taskmaster isn’t the only Black Widow character rumoured to be in Thunderbolts, with Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova also thought to be in the line-up.

That would certainly make for some interesting confrontations seeing as the two former foes would have to work together.
