Just like the X-Men and Fantastic Four, the movie rights to Deadpool are now back with Disney and Marvel, so it’s only a matter of time until the ‘Merc with a Mouth’ joins the MCU.

In the Marvel comics, Deadpool was a target of the Thunderbolts, with Norman Osborn ordering Black Widow, Ant-Man, Ghost, Headsman, and Paladin to murder Wade Wilson. Still, he later became a part of the sixth Thunderbolts line-up, alongside Elektra, Punisher, Red Hulk, and Ghost Rider.

As a character, Wade has never been more popular, with his two cinematic outings to date - not to mention Once Upon a Deadpool - making him one of the hottest heroes in the game these days. So much so, a third Deadpool film is in development right now, with Free Guy's Shawn Levy attached as director and Ryan Reynolds returning in the titular role and as a co-producer.

Both Thunderbolts and Deadpool cover a lot of similar themes of anti-heroes fighting morally corrupt battles while dishing out zingy one-liners, so it could make sense to merge the two films and have Pooly-D join the Thunderbolts roster.
