8 Mind-Blowing Ways Your Favourite Pop Culture Universes Are Connected

Megatron, the leader of the Decepticons, has done a lot of stupid things in his life. A lot of really REALLY stupid things, not the least of which was making Starscream, a guy who openly despises him, his second in command. As for the most idiotic thing Megatron ever pulled, that honor undoubtedly goes to him taking on Doctor Doom.

In the 2007 comic New Avengers/Transformers, Megatron tries to instigate a war between Doom’s country of Latveria and the neighboring Symkaria… because, you know, they’re apparently part of the Transformers universe. Instead of transporting Megatron to hell with all his limbs shoved down his throat, which would end the comic too early, Doom instead joins forces with the Avengers and the Autobots to stop the evil robot. Naturally they succeed and everyone lived happily ever after… at least until Michael Bay got his hands on the Transformers franchise.

But this wasn’t the first Transformers comic-book crossover. For that, we have to go all the way back to 1986 when the Autobots helped G.I. Joe take down Cobra, meaning that the military unit with the laxest uniform code ever actually exists in the same world as giant space robots and the Avengers, theoretically making the Joe’s Marvel characters… And the most tastefully-dressed ones, too.
