8 Modern Horrors Ruined By Their Monster Reveal
6. Sinister
Recently voted as the scariest horror of all time, Sinister hit screens in 2012, following the simple concept of possessed children who murder their family in the coolest of ways to be welcomed in the after life by a strange and mysterious entity that is controlling them.
Horror true crime novelist Ellison, with his family, moves in to a house that he knows has been the latest in a trail of seemingly unrelated killings. The string of murders across the world have only one connection - the youngest child goes missing. Over the course of the film, Ellison discovers a set of tapes in his attic and watches as each child films their own family's deaths that they have performed, including pushing them in to swimming pools, running over them with a lawnmower and setting their car on fire with them inside.
The father soon realises that the spirit known as Baghul or 'Mr Boogie' to the kids is behind their control just as he too falls victim to his own child's possession. In the final moments, audiences watched as the full entity of Baghul was revealed to look like... The Crow?
A long haired man in a suit with bird like eyes was not exactly scary, but the votes say differently.
